Golden milk
Your eyeballs may have become desensitised to turmeric lattes and golden milk popping up everywhere on social media but I want you to give them another chance. Ginger and turmeric are potent anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting super spices. The black pepper helps increase the bioavailability of the antioxidant compounds so don’t leave it out.
Ingredients
2 cups milk (I use almond or oat milk)
1 1/2 tsp ground turmeric or freshly grated if you can get it
1 tsp ground ginger or freshly grated
1 whole cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon (I love cinnamon, if you don’t - use less or swap for cardamom)
A few good grinds of fresh black pepper
1/4 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1 tsp coconut oil
A drizzle of maple or date syrup to sweeten
Instructions
Combine all ingredients, apart from syrup) in a pan and stir. Heat through.
When hot add a little syrup to taste and enjoy.
